5 Stevenson Crescent, Harkness VIC 3023, Australia

Australian International Academy Caroline Springs Primary Campus will run a Science Investigation Week involving all students from Foundation to Year 5. The week will include engaging in scientific investigations and making real-life connections focusing on species survival and sustainability. Throughout the week, it will encourage students to apply their research skills and scientific methods when inquiring, observing, making predictions, researching, collecting data, and making conclusions about the challenges that affect life. The lower primary students will create a leaf collection, observe different types of leaves and investigate features of the leaf set, parts of the leaf that can be food for an animal, and how plants get the energy to grow. The middle primary students will create an ecosystem in the jar, monitor the changes happening throughout the week, and investigate how humans can protect ecosystems. The upper primary students will be data scientists researching how Maths can be used to help understand species diversity, and they will research some data about different species and present them in a digital format.
