Join us to learn about Quandamooka's biodiversity while enjoying a specially-brewed pale ale!

Quandamooka (Moreton Bay) is a globally significant seascape with outstanding natural assets. Over 1,000 native animal species live in Moreton Bay or migrate to its diverse habitats.

But these species need our help.

The species of Moreton Bay live on the doorstep of one of Australia’s fastest growing population centres. These species face numerous threats, such as poor water quality.

For this event, join us for an entertaining discussion about Quandamooka's outstanding biodiversity. Chat over a hazy pale ale, specially brewed for Moreton Bay’s Biodiversity by the Straddie Brewery Co. The discussion will cover the conservation action needed for a healthy Moreton Bay.

Learn from scientists from the University of Queensland’s Centre for Biodiversity and Conservation Science. Together, we'll play a game of ‘Species Survivor’.

Each of the six scientists will represent a species that they research on Quandamooka country:

  • Richard Fuller (eastern curlew)
  • Chris Dudgeon (leopard shark)
  • Anthony Richardson (copepods)
  • Karen Cheney (white's seahorse)
  • Justine Bell-James (oyster reefs)
  • Cath Lovelock (grey mangrove)
