Schools across Australia are invited to join this special National Science Week webinar to learn about the amazing renewable energy work happening at Snowy Hydro.
Take part in an activity about reducing emissions and be inspired to design your own innovative ideas to reduce emissions which can be submitted for our national Powering up the Future competition, with a chance to win prizes valued up to $3000.
This webinar supports this year's Science Week schools theme Species Survival - More than just sustainability.
The Powering up the Future competition invites students to ‘work’ for Snowy Hydro as a Snowy Hydro futurist. This challenge requires the participant to investigate what a renewable energy future can look like and, through their findings, provide a solution to reducing energy emissions. The competition will ignite students’ interest in STEM as they gain an understanding of energy conservation as it relates to Australia’s transition to a renewable future.
Did we mention you could win prizes valued at $3000 if you enter your ideas to our competition? These include an overnight stay at Taronga Zoo for a family and a STEMgineers Kits subscription.
This webinar session is suitable for students aged 8 to 12. Additional sessions are available for 13 to 18 year old students.
The competition closes Sunday 25 August 2024.
