The Trentham District Primary School “Biodiversity-fest” will involve our citizen scientists (Year 6 students) transferring their knowledge to younger students within the school, with the aim to increase environmental literacy throughout the school and to showcase that Science is fun! Students will carry out experiments with adherence to fair testing, repetition, measuring, maths calculations and accurate recordings. Our results will be uploaded to the NCCMA’s Healthy Coliban Catchment project as citizen scientists. Our Biodiversity-fest will engage our students, parents and community and enable our student leaders to participate in sharing knowledge through ‘kids teaching kids’.
