The "St Aloysius Changemakers National Science Week Challenge" is a one day event that aims to empower young minds to become proactive agents of change through immersive scientific exploration. Students from Kindergarten to Year 6 will delve into the challenges faced by endangered keystone species, working with local experts from Sutherland Council to understand their crucial role in ecosystems. Through a design challenge, students will develop innovative solutions, incorporating digital technologies, to support the survival of these vital animals, promoting both scientific knowledge and a sense of responsibility towards biodiversity conservation. The event emphasises community involvement by inviting parents to participate alongside their children throughout the design process. Through interactive sessions and hands-on activities, families will bond over science, fostering a deeper understanding of environmental issues and strengthening community ties. Together, we can inspire a generation of St Aloysius Changemakers who are committed to making a positive impact on the world.
