  • Coogee Primary School
22 Mayor Road, Coogee WA 6166, Australia

As part of our celebration of National Science Week this year Coogee Primary School is inviting you to join in with one of these fun at home Science Technology Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) activities. Students from any grades 1-6 can choose any one of the following tasks.

Recycled Runway - Endangered Species

Species Survival is the theme of our 2024 National Science Week. This task requires students to identify an endangered species of animal or plant. Create a costume or fashion item using recycled materials that is inspired by an endangered species of animal or plant found throughout the globe

Magnificent Machine

Design and build a simple machine which can complete a specific task. Many useful machines like mechanical arms, ball launchers and elevators work on the principles of the six simple machines: lever, pulley, inclined plane, wedge, screw and wheel and axle.

Perfect Paper Plane

Paper planes come in many shapes and sizes. Some stunt planes go loop-da-loop while others are designed to fly straight for longer distances. Design and build a plane or glider that can stay airborne longer than any other by any means possible.
