Adelaide Zoo is Australia’s second oldest (after Melbourne Zoo), and is now home to more than 2500 animals representing 250 species.

As well as free keeper talks held at various enclosures throughout the day, there are a range of paid up-close animal experiences available to book, including face-to-face giraffe feeding, the meerkat encounter, and being a junior keeper.

Adelaide Zoo is home to two giant pandas, the only ones in Australia. Wang Wang and Fu Ni arrived in 2009 and as well as being a breeding pair, they are studied as part of a global panda research project.

Zoos SA participates in conservation and captive breeding programs for many endangered Australian species, as well as internationally.

The zoo is open everyday and there is a café, restaurant and picnic areas on site. Entry fees apply.
