Kronosaurus Korner is a marine fossil museum set in a landcape that was once an inland sea. Fossils had been found in the area since 1860, but it was in 1989 that spectacular complete plesiosaurs were found. The Museum was opened by volunteers in 1995 and became part of the local Richmond Shire Council in 1999.

There are hundreds of dinosaur fossils on display, and many more in the scientific collection. Highlights include Kronosaurus queenslandicus, cephalopods, turtles, sharks and Penny the Plesiosaur (not yet described scientifically).

Fossil permits are available to allow visitors to look for and keep fossils at two designated fossicking sites alongside the Richmond Woolgar Road. There is also an annual five-day residential (camping) fossil dig fieldtrip that visitors can join.

Kronosaurus Korner incorporates the local tourist information centre and has a giftshop and cafe.

Open everyday except Good Friday – Easter Monday, 25 & 26 December and 1 January. Admission fees apply.
