Hobart is Australia’s second oldest city and the Tasmanian Museum and Art Gallery was established there in 1843. The Museum has been in its current building near Constitution Dock since 1863.
Permanent exhibitions include the Antarctic Gallery Islands to Ice, exploring the close relationship between Hobart and Australia’s Antarctic exploration.
The Museum is open Tuesday to Sunday from 10.00 am – 4.00 pm (except 25 December, Good Friday and 25 April). Free admission.
