Welcome to Auburn West Public School's (AWPS) Science Week Events! At AWPS, we love all things science and technology! We have had a strong history in participating in National Science week activities. During Science week in 2024, we will have every grade focus on a design and production task aligned to the school's scope and sequence and have a Science Week assembly with a guest speaker from a STEM industry. Kindergarten will focus on a design and production task surrounding a living world focus and Stage 1 to 3 an Earth and Space and Material world focus. Our guest speaker for our 2024 Science Week Assembly will be Daniel Forwood from Meat and Livestock Australia who is the project manager - Sheep and Goat Productivity. He will be presenting at the assembly about the following topics:

• Where does our food come from?
• Animals and plants we grow are to feed us (removing from the “pet” concept)
• Paddock to plate supply chain infographic (high-level overview of the supply chain and skipping over the abattoir/meat processing piece)
• “To grow the food we eat farmers use a range of technologies”

Science is everywhere, even in the food we eat!
