Could a plant grow in a bottle?
Students will build a terrarium - an ecosystem in a jar. Because matter and energy is constantly cycling through ecosystems, organisms can stay alive even if they are in a closed container like a bottle or jar.
Students will be able to see how the natural environment can effectively operate without human intervention.
