It's time to build awareness of the crucial role animals play in our ecosystem, in the spectacular Illuminate: Endangered Species night projection at WA Museum Boola Bardip.

This year's National Science Week schools themes explore global endangered species, this visually rich, multisensory and large-scale piece by VJzoo will mesmerise young and old as you witness vulnerable species in their natural habitat.

You will:

  • Explore a waterfall and muddy waterhole in the Congo, central Africa, featuring Hippos, Western Lowland Gorillas and Chimpanzees.
  • Visualise a Savannah sunset, as a herd of African Elephants walks across a plain, silhouetted against a colourful sunset.
  • Witness an abandoned ancient temple in India, reclaimed by the jungle. Indian Elephants, Royal Bengal Tigers and Leopards move between the overgrown ruins.
  • Head to the mountainside, where a Marsican Brown Bear family forages and plays on a rocky slope in the Apennines, near Rome.

Watch as these beautiful creatures slowly disappear from sight, with messages of their vulnerability appearing on screen — and find out what you can do to make a difference.
