Journey Beyond: A Morning with Astronaut Katherine Bennell-Pegg

Katherine Bennell-Pegg will be touching down at Scienceworks to kick off National Science Week! Join us first thing to hear her interview, watch her launch a rocket, and then get an autograph from Australia’s first astronaut trained under the Australian flag.

From her beginnings in Sydney, Katherine Bennell-Pegg has long had her eyes set on space.

Katherine will be at Scienceworks to share her love of space and science with visitors.

During her visit you can:

  • Listen to a live interview in the amphitheatre and maybe ask some questions
  • Watch Katherine launch a rocket to start our Blast Off amphitheatre show
  • Line up for an opportunity for an autograph or photo

Katherine Bennell-Pegg holds four degrees across science (physics major), space and aeronautical engineering. She is passionate about using human spaceflight and space to unlock opportunities for researchers and industry, as well as inspiring the next generation of astronauts and scientists.

 

This event is part of Survive and Thrive, a series of events supported by the Inspiring Victoria program for National Science Week 2024.
