ThincLab, affiliated with the University of Adelaide, and Australian medical startup Osteo-X have joined forces to support the Adelaide MedTech Hackathon. This dynamic program provides university students with an exclusive opportunity for immersive learning, collaboration, and innovation. This year's MedTech Hackathon is dedicated to addressing healthcare challenges. With a thematic focus on sustainability in healthcare waste, navigating medical dilemmas, and exploring advancements in medical technology, all guided by industry and academic experts. The goal is to promote healthcare advancements while mitigating potential adverse health and environmental impacts.
Student teams will engage in four in-person workshops led by academics and industry professionals. The initial session will explore the proposed challenge with insights from medical experts through keynote speeches. Subsequent workshops will help develop group themes, pitching techniques, and entrepreneurial thinking. These sessions equip participants to better innovate and develop unique solutions. Teams will receive continuous mentorship throughout the Hackathon. Culminating in the final pitching event, where they will advocate for their innovative solutions to a panel of judges and sponsors on the final day.
The hackathon has over $5000 worth of prizes to be won and provides an excellent opportunity for individuals to collaborate and network.
