Join us for the Minak Reserve Nature Walk & Exploration, a super fun event where you’ll discover the wonders of nature and learn cool science stuff along the way.

Meeting Point: Selby Community House (right next to Minak Reserve)

What’s in Store?

Awesome Nature Walk: We'll start our journey at the Selby Community House, where you'll meet our friendly guide from the 'Friends of Minak Reserve.' These nature experts know all about the old, tall trees, thick green ferns, and the amazing animals that call Minak Reserve home.

Fun Science Activities: Bring your explorer hat because we’ve got some hands-on science fun lined up. You’ll get to use magnifying glasses to look at tiny bugs, leaves, and rocks up close. We’ll have notebooks for you to jot down your discoveries and draw what you
see. Imagine being a real scientist for a day.

Help Us Protect Minak Reserve: Ever heard of pesky plants that don’t belong in Minak Reserve? These are called invasive weeds, and they can harm the plants and animals that live here. You’ll learn why these weeds need to go and how removing them helps our
reserve stay healthy. We’ll even get to pull out some weeds together – it’s like a gardening mission to save nature.

Yummy Snacks and Refreshments: After all that exploring, we’ll head back to Selby Community House for some tasty snacks and drinks. It’s the perfect time to chat with your new friends, share what you’ve learned, and ask more questions.

Cool Souvenirs: Don’t forget to take home your nature journal and some awesome memories. We’ll have some special souvenirs to remind you of your day as a nature explorer.

So, grab your gumboots, bring your curiosity, and get ready for some adventure and discovery at the Minak Reserve Nature Walk & Exploration. We can't wait to explore with you.
