Throughout the week, students will have the opportunity to participate in Science fun, culminating in a day of Science Activities for the whole school. An outline of the week is as follows:
Tuesday 13th August – Science activity at recess for Years Prep -2 in the STEM Room – Making your own fossil.
Wednesday 14th August - Science activity at recess for Years 3 - 4 in the STEM Room – Making your own lava lamp
Thursday 15th August - Science activity at recess for Years 5 - 6 in the STEM Room – Race your own soap-powered boat.
Thursday 15th August – STEM Fair in the STEM room and Ullin Centre Hall – This will be open to parents in Session 4 and to students after school until 4pm showcasing the amazing STEM curriculum, Science Talent Search projects and kitchen garden.
Friday 16th August – Science/STEM Day – a day of activities related to Science Week and STEM. Feel free to bring your students through the STEM Fair if you like any time throughout the day.
On Friday 16 August, students will attend a Science show/ Assembly to kick off the day. They will then have two sessions to complete their mystery boxes. A box full of 2 science activities completed in class or outside. All materials for the activities will be found in the box. Students will also be part of a Science/ STEM challenge in their House Groups for one session. The day will finish with a return to a whole school assembly, to showcase the learning from the week, in particular, their day of science learning.
