Throughout National Science Week every student at Coromandel Valley Primary School will be planting a native plant to bring back biodiversity.
We had an inclusive ramp installed last year. Trees and vegetation were removed to provide access for prams and wheelchairs to visit our school. We plan to plant local species to create habitat for visiting bees, butterflies, birds, mammals and reptiles. We will also construct habitat boxes for local birds and birdbaths in this space.
We will survey the area before planting and after planting to collect some data and help our local species survive and thrive.
