National Science Week at the Ekka!
Ekka's Learning Trail
Join Ekka's agronomist Rhondda and her Farmyard Friends on the Ekka's Learning Trail.
This is a self-guided tour showcasing agricultural education learning experiences with a specific focus on AgTech and the science behind food and fibres. The Learning Trail Passport and Teacher's Guide make the connection between science and agriculture and are Australian Curriculum aligned
There are eight unique spots starting at Ag Education Hall and finishing with experiencing the dairy production process. Along the trail children of all ages learn about living things, materials, biological diversity, body systems, natural selection, adaptations, and evolution with a special focus on species survival.
Ekka's Greenhouse Innovator Competition
Ekka's Learning Trail showcases our Greenhouse Innovator Competition empowering students to investigate the optimisation of food production.
Check out the winning students' models from Ekka's Greenhouse Innovator Competition. Students used robotics while collecting and analysing data from plant growth experiments on their own classroom lettuce farms.
This project incorporates STEM and horticultural studies, enabling students to develop the technical skills and problem-solving strategies that will serve Australia’s agricultural industry in generations to come.
This is showcased in Ag Education Hall, the first point in your ag-venture!
