Discover the Ancient Science of the Land: A One-Day Journey Through Indigenous STEM

Step into the world of traditional Indigenous science and technology for a unique, one-day experience at the Wildbark learning centre during National Science Week. Join us at Mulligans Flat, where the critically endangered box gum grassy woodlands set the perfect backdrop for an immersive exploration of Indigenous STEM.

Guided by Richie Allan, a respected Ngunnawal and Kamilaroi cultural expert, this event will open your eyes to the deep knowledge embedded in the land. Richie will lead you through hands-on activities that reveal the remarkable ingenuity of Indigenous technologies, from traditional bush medicine and rope making to the creation/use of boomerangs and various other tools.

Engage with the natural world on a cultural bushwalk, and discover how Indigenous science has shaped sustainable practices for thousands of years. This is more than just an event—it's a celebration of diversity in STEM and an opportunity to connect with the rich cultural heritage of Australia.

Whether you're a family, a curious learner, or a science enthusiast, this experience will leave you inspired by the ancient wisdom that continues to influence modern science. Don’t miss out on this unique opportunity to celebrate and learn from the original scientists of Australia.
