  • - (AEST)
  • Mount Clear Primary School
1206 Geelong Road, Mount Clear VIC 3350, Australia
Seeds for The Future - Growing a Sustainable Future Students will transplant seedlings from trays, discuss seed diversity, germination, and the importance of regular care for healthy plants. They'll set up a Community Seed Swap and Donation Station to encourage future seed exchanges, and explore water needs and sustainable gardening practices. We are focusing on the critical role and concept of seeds in ensuring biodiversity and the survival of various ‘helpful’ species. Students are learning about different plant species, and understand the importance of preserving and sharing their seeds. Through this project students are discovering how important seeds are for growing all kinds of plants and making sure our world is full of different species. We’ll learn about how saving and sharing seeds helps plants grow, keeps our planet healthy, and provides us with nutritious food. We aim to investigate how seeds help us grow tasty, sustainable healthy food by saving and sharing different kinds of seeds.
