21 Armstrong Street, Petrie QLD 4502, Australia

During National Science Week, we have organised a variety of events and activities to engage students in scientific exploration and discovery.

Tuesday:
We kick off Science Week on the Tuesday by inviting the Year 5/6 students from the local Catholic primary school for a special science session. Since these students are currently studying chemistry, we have planned a series of hands-on and inquiry-based experiments focusing on states of matter. In the afternoon, Mt Maria, Petrie will welcome more students from OLW primary school along with their parents for more scientific experiments and engineering challenges.

Wednesday:
The school will host a lunchtime event that focuses on energy and energy transfer. Students will have the opportunity to witness the imploding watermelon experiment on the oval, demonstrating the principles of energy and pressure.

Thursday:
Our lunchtime activity, "Tiny Treasures: Exploring Life Under the Microscope," will allow students to explore the diversity of life. They will examine various organisms and cells under microscopes, gaining insights into the microscopic world.

Friday:
We conclude the week with the "Electrifying Adventures" activity, focusing on circuits and robotics. This activity will provide students with a hands-on experience in building and understanding electrical circuits and robotic systems.

All these events will inspire curiosity and a love for science among students, making Science Week an exciting and educational experience.
