Science Week @SPARQ-ed & UQ: Indigenous STEM Experience

  • - (AEST)
  • The University of Queensland
280-284 Sir Fred Schonell Drive, St Lucia QLD 4067, Australia

The team at SPARQ-ed and UQ Faculty of Medicine have been very busy planning an exclusive Science Week event this August for First Nations students of Queensland, with the help of the UQ Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Studies Unit, InspireU and DeadlyScience crew!

We aim to introduce Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander high school students in Years 8-12 to the science behind cancer research and explore the connections between STEM subject choices and career pathways. This amazing 2-day event will consist of one full day at SPARQ-ed in Woolloongabba, followed by a full day at UQ St Lucia Campus *(Catering and transport costs included).

The event is limited to four schools, who will each select 7 students across Years 8 - 12 to represent their school at this free event.
