  • Lilian Cannam Kindergarten
97 Eastern Road, South Melbourne VIC 3205, Australia

Lilian Cannam Kindergarten recognises the critical role of children in shaping the future of our planet. The Species Survival - more than just sustainability event will be an immersive and engaging experience designed to introduce our children to the wonders of the natural world. Through dynamic, hands-on wildlife incursions led by the enthusiastic Wild Action team, children are provided with a unique opportunity to connect with nature, fostering curiosity, respect, and a passion for conservation.

Our event covers various aspects of wildlife and the environment. Children explore different animal types, including mammals, reptiles, amphibians, birds, and insects, and learn about their coverings, such as fur, feathers, scales, and slimy skin. We will discuss the diverse habitats where these animals live, like woodlands, deserts, and rainforests, and the vital ecological roles each species plays in maintaining ecosystem balance.

The event will be both educational and memorable, with engaging presentations and the chance for every child to touch and interact with the animals.

Emphasising conservation and personal responsibility, our program teaches children the significance of not disturbing wildlife and how they can contribute to protecting natural habitats.

Our event aims to nurture a generation of environmentally conscious individuals who appreciate the natural world and are dedicated to its conservation. By instilling a love for nature and a commitment to sustainability, we empower the children at Lilian Cannam Kindergarten to play an active role in protecting our planet and ensuring a sustainable future for all species. In a world dominated by technology and urbanisation it is crucial to reconnect the youngest generation with the natural world, empowering our children with the knowledge needed to become stewards of our precious planet.
