Sydney’s Waterways Tour

  • From
  • The WILD PLAY Discovery Centre
Dickens' Drive, Centennial Park NSW 2021, Australia

Centennial Park is the site of some of Sydney’s oldest and most important water supplies. Follow the expert on the subject Prof Khan from the University of Sydney.

During the tour, you will:

  • Learn about historic water schemes like Busby’s Bore and Botany Swamps, which provided water to Sydney from the 1830s to the 1880s
  • Visit significant reservoirs built in the 19th and 20th centuries that still supply water to the city today.
  • See how the parkland's swamps and ponds manage urban stormwater, reduce pollution, and recharge the Botany Aquifer.

This special tour will be led by Dr. Stuart Khan, a Professor and Head of the School of Civil Engineering at
the University of Sydney.
