Learn how to talk about marine science with a range of audiences.

 

This National Science Week, learn essential science communication skills and strategies in this online marine biology workshop. This output-oriented course will teach you how to present marine science and technology research to a wide range of audiences.

​Among other things, the course will cover fundamental principles of giving speeches, conference presentations and Ted talks. Budding marine science communicators will be equipped with the confidence and media savvy required to project messages clearly and simply.

In this webinar, we will provide hands-on training in delivering talks and preparing PowerPoint slides. We will share tips on how to create illustrative material for many outlets, including in-house, local and international presentations, and the digital media. You will learn valuable skills, such as how to give after-dinner talks about marine science and technology to experts and laypeople alike.

 

This marine biology workshop will be held online, via two 90-minute Zoom sessions.

The first session runs from 9.30aom to 11am and the second from 2pm to 3.30pm, Melbourne time.
