  • - (ACST)
  • Tatachilla Lutheran College
211 Tatachilla Road, McLaren Vale SA 5171, Australia

During National Science Week, students from Tatachilla Lutheran College will be adding 100 rare plants to our EcoClassroom Sanctuary. The EcoSanctuary is currently home the Brush-Tailed Bettong, a critically endangered marsupial, and the Long-Nosed Potoroo which is near threated. Tatachilla wishes to continue its conservation efforts by providing a home to rare plant species. The plant species will include, Pale Everlasting, Prostrate Blue Devil, Spreading Eutaxia, Goodenia pinnatifida, Slender Speedwell and several native mint species. Planting these species will provide a space for these rarer plants to thrive. The hope is that in the future these plants will be able to have some of their seeds harvested. This is so future students can propagate the plants securing the preservation of these species.
