The Mobile Antarctic Classroom is touring Tasmania this National Science Week.
Join us at the Bass Strait Maritime Centre and get free entry into the Centre on the same day.
Play with magnets, pretend penguin eggs, and polarising filters; look at replica and genuine Antarctic artefacts; take a photo in our snow tent; chat to our staff about your Antarctic history and science questions.
Whether you’re in kindergarten or retired, we’ve got something for you.
The Mobile Antarctic Classroom is on tour before the Australian Antarctic Festival (22 - 25 August), presented by the Mawson’s Huts Foundation.

Admission is free to the Bass Strait Maritime Centre for this event. There is an automatic front door and an accessible toilet in the building. Parking is available beside the building and an accessible car park is close to the front door.
