379 Whitehorse Rd, Nunawading VIC 3131, Australia

Learn the art and positive environmental impacts of visible mending!

This event is part of the Whitehorse Manningham Library's weeklong program of From Craft to Code events. Learn the art of visible mending utilising repetitive & decorative hand stitching. This practice is meditative, fun and tells a beautiful story upon your well-loved clothing.

For this workshop, we encourage you to bring along a ripped or damaged garment to repair on the day. You will leave with new skills and a revitalised piece of clothing!

This workshop is facilitated by Sarah Seahorse. Sarah is an award-winning wearable artist, fashion & costume designer, milliner and craftivist. She specialises in wearables that create impactful environmental and political commentary. With a passion for repairing and upcycling, she loves to teach the meaningful art of mending your old & beloved clothes to cherish for years to come and keep them out of landfill.

This Inspiring Australia initiative is supported by the Australian Government as part of National Science Week.
