Join us for this STEMtastic adventure at the Western Treatment Plant, to learn more about the science and innovation that takes place to ensure wildlife – including some of the world’s rarest bird and frog species – will thrive for generations to come.
Take a bus tour of the largest sewage treatment plant in Melbourne. Discover the wonderful world of water and how our waste is turned into reusable resources and clean, recycled water. Explore where some of this water feeds into the vast, Ramsar-listed wetland on the site, which is home to an amazing array of birds and animals, including endangered species.
But there’s more! There will be hands on activities at our state-of-the-art Digital Education Centre, grassland plantings plus a range of indoor activities for the whole family.
A free shuttle bus will be running from Werribee Station to the Western Treatment Plant. Parking also available at the Discovery Centre car park.
