This year's Young Tassie Scientists are University of Tasmania scientists who are keen to share their work through interactive talks and hands-on activities in Tasmanian schools and communities during National Science Week.

  • Niam Askey-Doran (He/him), Geophysicist - Physics 
  • Osian Walton (He/him), Medical scientist - Microplastic and the immune system
  • Rhiannon Terry (She/her), Chemist - The Chemistry of Smells 
  • Samuel Verne (He/Him), Physicist - Dark Matter and the physics of the universe 
  • Thomas Verne (he/him), Plant scientist - Plant molecular biology & Microscopy 
  • Yuhang Liu (She/her), Marine scientist - Antarctic Oceanography
