Grants are now available from the Western Australia Coordinating Commitee for National Science Week to support events in the state.
Small grants
Up to $2500 (excl. GST) is available for organisations or community groups to run science activities, with a focus on regional and remote engagement.
Proposed activities must:
- be held in August, preferably during National Science Week;
- be held in Western Australia. Preference will be given to events held in rural or regional WA, although outstanding events held in metropolitan Perth will be considered; and
- include a COVID-19 contingency plan should WA’s laws require increased social distancing at the time.
The grant guidelines are available, along with the application form, from Inspiring WA.
Medium-tier grants
Up to $10 000 (excl. GST) is available for organisations to run free community science activities in Western Australia. Activity or event suggestions include (but are not limited to) festivals, talks and presentations, workshops, or citizen science activities.
Proposed activities must:
- be held during National Science Week (14 – 22 August) in the Perth Metropolitan Area;
- align under the broad theme Food: Different by Design, in honour of the United Nations International Year of Fruits and Vegetables and the International Year of Creative Economy for Sustainable Development; and
- include a COVID-19 contingency plan demonstrating how activity outcomes will be met, should WA’s laws require increased social distancing at the time.
Additionally, up to $5000 (excl. GST) in additional funding is available to a medium-tier grant applicant, to run their initiative as a part of WA’s official launch event.
The grant guidelines and application form are available from Inspiring WA.
All applications close on Friday 16 April.
